Hotel Chemnitzer Hof

8.9 1680 guest reviews Guest favorite

The Hotel Chemnitzer Hof is one of the architectural landmarks of the city and rises with its clear, cubic façade directly on Theaterplatz. The house was built between 1929 and 1930 to designs by the architect Heinrich Straumer, who also designed the Berlin Radio Tower, and is still considered an important example of New Objectivity in Chemnitz. Opposite lie the opera house and the Art Collections, so guests stay in the cultural core of the 2025 European Capital of Culture.

Behind the listed façade, the four-star superior house combines historic flair with upscale comfort. The 86 rooms as well as several suites and an apartment are equipped with box-spring beds, the elegant Opera restaurant serves a breakfast buffet and international cuisine in the evening, and a wellness area with sauna and massage offerings invites you to relax. As a special service, guests receive a ticket for free public transport in Chemnitz.

The central location on Theaterplatz makes the house the ideal starting point for culture and city trips. The opera house, St. Petri Church, the Art Collections and the pedestrian zones around Straße der Nationen and the market square are all within walking distance, as are the Red Tower and the Karl Marx Monument. Anyone looking for tradition, architectural history and comfort under one roof is in the best hands at the Chemnitzer Hof.
